Poe Family Farm

Flower Farm & Floral Design Studio

Meet the Farmers

Lindsey and Robert Poe have been nurturing Poe Family Farm since 2014. Over the years, they’ve tried it all, but their true passion blossomed in flowers. Today, they focus on growing seasonal blooms that reflect their love for the land and dedication to farming.

I’m Lindsey, a flower farmer and floral designer inspired by the Piedmont landscape and generations of gardeners before me. I learned to love flowers alongside my grandmother, a Master Gardener who showed me how blooms can spark connection, joy, and beauty in everyday moments. Today, I create garden-inspired arrangements that celebrate seasonal textures, colors, and scents—bringing effortless elegance and unforgettable moments to every occasion. Every arrangement is made with care and intention, meant to feel personal, inviting, and deeply connected to the season in which it was grown.

I’m Robert. I’ve always loved working the land, and our farm is where we grow our family, our flowers, and a life rooted in hard work and care. Watching our kids tend the garden, care for the animals, and delight in fresh blooms makes every season worthwhile. Farming brings its challenges, but there’s nothing better than the satisfaction of working with my hands, being outdoors, and sharing the farm’s abundance with others. Every day on the farm is a chance to connect with the land and pass on lessons about dedication, patience, and the simple joys of life

Our Mission

At Poe Family Farm, our mission is to spread happiness through the beauty of flowers. Each season, we carefully plant a variety of sustainable flowers in our fields that enhance the landscape and foster connections to nature, promoting overall health and well-being. We believe that our flowers can bring people together and strengthen our community.

Farm Practices

We take every aspect of the flower-growing experience seriously. Our commitment to sustainable and eco-friendly practices reflects our deep respect for nature. From seed starting and planting to maintaining, harvesting, and delivering, we set our standards at the highest level.

Each morning and early evening, we gather our flowers during the coolest parts of the day. We pick them at the optimal harvest stage for each variety to ensure the freshest and most long-lasting blooms possible. After harvesting, we immediately transfer the flowers to our walk-in cooler, where they "rest" before we create bouquets or deliver them straight to our customers.

What We Grow

We often receive this question, and our answer varies throughout the season! We primarily grow annual flowers, but we also include a variety of perennials. We have a special fondness for unique varieties and heirloom plants. Some of our favorite blooms include anemones, celosia, cosmos, dahlias, gomphrena, peonies, ranunculus, snapdragons, sunflowers, stock, tuberoses, zinnias, and more! We also love incorporating fresh herbs and dried flowers into our designs.

Our Growing Season

Our peak growing season typically runs from April to late October. However, even during the coldest months, we continue to plant and care for flowers that will soon bloom. We utilize commercial high tunnels to help overwinter flowers and extend our growing season as much as possible. Our offerings change throughout the year, reflecting what is in season, and our floral design studio remains open year-round.

Why Local?

Did you know that 80% of all cut flowers sold in the USA are imported from other countries? That's right—most of the flowers we buy travel thousands of miles from places like Colombia and Ecuador. This means that by the time they reach you, they could be several days or even weeks old. Their shelf life is significantly diminished, and they have likely been treated with harsh chemicals just to keep them alive. Purchasing from local farmers not only improves the economic well-being of the community but also promotes sustainable farming practices.
